Megan is a certified labor doula, childbirth educator, and lactation counselor. She is the author of Your Birth Plan: A Guide to Navigating All of Your Choices in Childbirth, as well as several essays about doula support and body size in pregnancy.
Megan has attended over 550 births in NYC hospitals, birth centers, and homes and she has supported over 1200 families postpartum. She has assisted clients with every type of preference, intervention, and outcome available.
Beyond her certifications and extensive birth experience, Megan has experience working as a rape crisis and domestic violence advocate in hospitals and police stations and brings this background in nonjudgemental advocacy to her birth work. Megan also has a PhD from Binghamton University (SUNY) and uses her academic background to provide you with the most up-to-date evidence based information about pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and lactation.
Megan always aims to provide the highest quality, respectful, compassionate support for pregnant people and their families throughout pregnancy, childbirth, chest/breastfeeding, and the challenges of early infancy.
Megan lives in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn with her husband, Shawn, and their sons August and Clay. She likes to travel, ride her bike, bake cakes, and work in her community garden.
